If it's warm enough to be outside during the nighttime, I probably wouldn't go to sleep for a while.Parade-Noteshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11909609703849174038noreply@blogger.comBlogger19125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2821292136550487705.post-5226268669636834772012-04-30T19:00:00.002-04:002014-01-18T14:40:02.728-05:00Frankenstein (1931)AFI #87 (1998 list)

Notable quotes:
"He's alive! He's alive! In the name of God! Now I know what it feels like to be God!"

Notable scenes:
Frankenstein playing with Maria (especially Maria's naivete).
Opening scene with Edward Van Sloan providing the disclaimer.

The ending left me feeling uneasy. Clearly he was unfit for society and was an unnatural creature, but did he deserve to be engulfed in flames? Frankenstein's monster was still an innocent.
Although I'm familiar with most of the films on the list I haven't seen them all--kind of embarassing. Anywho, I'm pretty gung ho** about this and told myself I'd watch them all during the winter break. However, I ended up watching The Graduate (1967 #7) last night and loved it. So I suppose I'll start this endeavour earlier than I had originally planned.

Tonight I'll watch...

On the Waterfront (1954 #19).

*I won't be watching them in the order of their ranking.

**I must admit however, I'm less than enthusiastic*** about watching Star Wars (#13) and 2001: A Space Odyssey (#15).

***Edit: Am really looking forward to watching both of them now actually.Parade-Noteshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11909609703849174038noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2821292136550487705.post-12485637653524993232011-06-26T15:11:00.003-04:002012-04-10T21:48:25.755-04:00...Currently reading: The Importance of Being Earnest.
Currently listening to: One Night Only's "Say You Don't Want It".
Currently Watching: Game of Thrones.Parade-Noteshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11909609703849174038noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2821292136550487705.post-91888573291673011342010-11-07T19:15:00.002-05:002010-11-07T19:16:21.908-05:00Birthday Wish List1. Conscious vs. Conscience
To make it seem much less half-ass they will copy and paste a few/four/five paragraphs.

The latter form of students are straightup mo-fos. Stop being lazy and writing bullshit. I don't have the time* to sift through several paragraphs of plagiarism to make out what I really need to be studying.

And this is the sort of crap that happens everytime the prof posts up a study guide. What do we do? Split up the work and then send it around. And then there's always at least 1 shithead who thinks they can get get away with this sort of lazy behaviour.

Never again will I settle for this sort of agreement.

*Or energy, as it is midnight.Parade-Noteshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11909609703849174038noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2821292136550487705.post-27890886470755982692010-08-02T15:29:00.003-04:002012-04-13T10:22:36.380-04:00I have to remind myself to write more...Currently reading: The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Samuel Clemens aka Mark Twain.

It's quite good. Pretty funny too. Some of the lingo is old school (obviously, since it was written in the 1860sish) but not completely incomprehensible.

I have not yet started The Book of Negroes, unfortunately. However, I did begin this book called 13 and a Half Lives of a Blue Bear. It was captivating enough but the premise of it was so obvious that I knew how it would end and so I didn't finish it.

Can't think anymore, goodbye.Parade-Noteshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11909609703849174038noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2821292136550487705.post-34692419942353185262010-06-30T21:07:00.007-04:002012-04-10T21:52:02.765-04:00In the midst of an (almost) empty library...So it seems that inspiration only strikes when I'm doing uninspiring things (writing an essay)...

If you read my previous blog post you'll see that I told myself that I would write more frequently and would push myself to write things that do not revolve around my escapades at school. But, if I'm being honest with myself and go back to the first sentence of this blog, I must say that inspiration striking me at whichever moment, (be that as it may, writing an essay) I should take the opportunity to write all the same.

In unrelated news, I have not yet started The Book of Negroes. (If you scrolled down to read my previous post earlier, you will have seen that reading said book was on my to-do list).

Something I should be reading?

The article for the essay I'm in the middle of writing...Parade-Noteshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11909609703849174038noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2821292136550487705.post-71109326938527595172010-06-17T08:53:00.004-04:002012-04-10T21:52:27.856-04:00I don't know why most of my blog posts revolve around exams...Same deal as always. Exam in 2 hours but still procrastinating.
This is not good. I told myself that I would write a blog to document events and things like that but I haven't updated this blog in a while, not to mention that I only feel like writing when I don't want to study and only write about me not wanting to study.

Khaaaaaa!!

Note to self: I will update this blog more frequently and will make it sound more interesting. I really should steer this blog in a certain direction.

Currently reading (or will soon start reading): The Book of Negroes.Parade-Noteshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11909609703849174038noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2821292136550487705.post-10008330132425579502010-04-28T16:46:00.003-04:002010-04-28T16:52:30.421-04:00Eff the school kids playing on their driveways...I'm sitting on my bed and the sun is shining brilliantly through my window and hitting my legs. Should I be reading my notes or frolicking in the grass? Wtf? The sunshine is toying with my emotions. Studying for my last exam is painful. I don't even want to aim high anymore and it won't even bother me if I get a C.

To care or not to care?

See blog #2.Parade-Noteshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11909609703849174038noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2821292136550487705.post-24159003033317980672010-04-22T20:30:00.000-04:002010-04-23T22:26:25.778-04:00How sweet the sound...So I'm washing the dishes when I hear the melody of an ice cream truck making its way down my street. I immediately locate my wallet mentally in my head, then restrain myself. Every time I hear an ice cream truck coming along, I just want to stop the hell everything I'm doing and run after it.

It's the universal reaction.

Am I right?Parade-Noteshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11909609703849174038noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2821292136550487705.post-81895733573529807332010-04-20T13:32:00.001-04:002010-04-23T23:18:05.696-04:00Anything to do less work...So I have a lot of time to study for my upcoming exams. An entire week actually. In any case, I'm still trying to minimize my amount of work. Looking over the syllabus for one of my classes, I see that there's a whole list of readings I need to get started on (obviously, I didn't read any of them during the semester). Some of the readings don't carry links to the actual articles. They're not even available to access on the Intranet.

Does that mean I don't need to read them?

Just emailed my TA to confirm.Parade-Noteshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11909609703849174038noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2821292136550487705.post-43387887489640761072010-04-16T10:58:00.000-04:002010-04-23T23:16:06.493-04:00I have an exam in 3 hours...and yet I'm lacking the motivation to do some last minute cramming.

I should get cracking...Parade-Noteshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11909609703849174038noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2821292136550487705.post-56788450601370556892010-04-12T20:15:00.000-04:002010-04-12T20:16:23.712-04:00First BlogStill working on it...Parade-Noteshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11909609703849174038noreply@blogger.com0
